Vidya Balan is a Tamilian from Kerala. She is from the Iyer community. She comes from a middleclass family from Palghat, on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Vidya did her schooling from St Antony's School and later on joined St Xavier's College from where she graduated in sociology.
When she was doing her MA from Mumbai University, she was offered a role in a Malayalam film titled Chakram with Mohanlal, one of Vidya�s favorite actors. However, the project was shelved mid-way and Vidya had to wait for few more years to make her movie debut.
She made her debut as a model in a Surf Excel advertisement in 1998. She has acted in scores of ad films, most of which were directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
A couple of months later, she featured in three music videos (again directed by Sarkar) for �Euphoria�, Shubha Mudgal and Pankaj Udhas.
Vidya also acted in Ashok Pandit�s TV serial Hanste Khelte and Ektaa Kapoor's Hum Paanch.
In the meantime, she acted in Bengali movie Bhaalo Theko with actor Joy Sengupta. She even won the �best actress� Anand Lok Puraskar in Kolkata for her performance in the movie.
It was in Mumbai, during a pop concert, when filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra approached her to play the female lead in his movie Parineeta, to be directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
Vidya had to go through 40 screen tests and 17 make-up shoots before she was finally chosen for the lead role in the film.

You have the opportunity of trial and error. But in theatre, whatever gestures or emotions you play or lines you deliver, are your first and last shot. And that is what makes it all the more exciting. The feeling you get when just entering on stage and getting into the character's skin, with a live audience out there focusing on you and only you, is very thrilling! The private sector is where jobs are created for Americans. And there aren't any jobs being created and there are no policies in place to create jobs. The policies in place are depressing job creation.
And so the question here for the election is, Obama and the Democrats or America? Because you can't have both. And maybe I should say America as founded. But this is I mean, I think it's crunch time. I don't think this is being overstated. I don't think it's being exaggerated at all.

Today, Sunday October 3 the Twin Cities Marathon 2010 took place in Minnesota. In our article yesterday with information about the marathon we noted the scenic route for this popular and huge event, with the course set amidst lakes, trees and rivers. Today was just about peak conditions for the 11,000 runners in the race which looked even more scenic in the sunshine.
Many of you will want to know the results and we have those details here for you. The men's division of the marathon was won in 2 hours 14 minutes and 2 seconds by Sergio Reyes of Palmdale, California who ran a new personal best time. In second place came Jeffrey Eggleston of New York in 2 hours 14 minutes and 9 seconds while third place went to Fernando Cabada of Longmont, CO, in 2 hours 15 minutes and 25 seconds, according to Kimberly Bogin over on examiner.com.
In the women's race the winner was Deba Buzunesh of Ethiopia with a time of 2 hours 27 minutes and 24 seconds followed by Svetlana Ponomarenko of Russia in 2 hours 35 minutes and 23 seconds. In third place was Serkalem Abrha of Ethiopia with a time of 2 hours 36 minutes and 16 seconds. According to an Associated Press report on usatoday.com the top finishers from Minnesota were Donovan Fellows who finished ninth in the men's race and Nichole Porath who came in 20th position in the women's race.

3. Edge defeated Jack Swagger with a spear in an impromptu match made by the Raw general manager.
4. Wade Barrett defeated John Cena after outside interference. Cena had Barrett in the STF, but a fan ran into the ring, drawing the attention of the referees. During the distraction, another person came out of the crowd and knocked out Cena, allowing Barrett to get the pin. Per a pre-match stipulation, John Cena must now become a member of Nexus.
From the replay, it appears that NXT season 2 rookies Michael McGillicutty and Husky Harris were the interfering fans.
Bengals 20 Browns 23 - Browns win first of the season, T.O. has over 200 yards receiving.
Panthers 14 Saints 16 - Saints scrap by a terrible Panthers team and improve to 3-1.
Seahawks 3 Rams 20 - Rams win two in a row and are now 2-2 this season.
Lions 26 Packers 28 - Packers sneak by the Lions in a tough game, improve to 3-1.
Jets 38 Bills 14 - Bills continue to struggle in loss.
49ers 14 Falcons 16 - Niners still cannot get their first win of the season.
Ravens 17 Steelers 14 - Ravens hand Steelers first loss of the season, move into tie for first in AFC North.

MLB Playoff Schedule 2010 – The Major League Baseball (MLB) is nearing the end of the 2010 season. The regular season has ended with the last games which were held this October 03, 2010. The 2010 MLB Playoff will officially start on October 06 which includes first 3 games.
The San Francisco Giants eliminated the San Diego Padres with their 3-0 victory today, which makes them the NL West champions for the first time since 2003.
The Giants finished the 2010 regular season with a 92-70 (.568) record, and earned the third seed in the NL. The Atlanta Braves, in turn, claimed the wild card spot.

On CBS' "Undercover Boss" Sunday (Oct. 3), we get a twist on the scatological euphemism "dropping off the kids at the pool."
Kimberly K. Schaefer is our first female "Undercover Boss" we've seen on the show, and she'll be going incognito to the Great Wolf Lodge properties, a chain of indoor waterparks.
