Dharmendra Deol Biography

When one thinks of Dharmendra Deol, one automatically sees a romantic star as well as a he-man - a trait that is not quite common in Bollywood heroes. No wonder He is known as 'Garam' Dharam (hot Dharam), in Bollywood. He had the looks of a real gentle man, the masculine body of a he-man and when it came to his films, he had a very humorous touch in his dialog-delivery and the timing, especially. The heroics in his films - Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Jugnu (1973), Raja Jani (1972) and Loafer (1973) - are all quite remarkable and unforgettable. Let's not forget that all these films were big blockbusters in India. And not to forget his quite unbelievable performance he'd shown in the role he played as "Veeru" in Sholay (1975). And who can forget his dialog delivery in this movie, whether it was with Basanti or his famous "suicide" dialog. Though he and his films got nominated for Filmfare awards and though he couldn't get one for his films, he, in the end, has got the best award in his life - "The Life Time Achievement" award in 1997 from Filmfare for his achievements, splendid performance during his times and wonderful career in Bollywood. He was the real action hero of perfection in his days and is still considered to be the best romantic hero and the best romantic pair with the actress Hema Malini, whom he later married. They have 2 children together, Esha and Ahana and he has two sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol from a previous marriage with Prakash Kaur. While Sunny, Deol, and Esha are Bollywood stars in their own right, Ahana is getting set-up to be another Deol Star on the horizon. Dharmendra became a grandfather recently when Bobby and Tanya gave birth to their first-born. And not to forget Dharam's nephew Abhay, who has already made his debut with "Socha Na Tha" with Ayesha Takia. Dharmendra still continues to make appearances in movies every once in a while, and we all know that it will be quite some time before he throws in the towel.

Ayesha Takia Biography, Impages, Wallpapers, Filmography, Pictures and Latest Updates

Posted: 05 Oct 2010 01:04 AM PDT

Ayesha Takia Biography

Ayesha Takia was born in Bombay on April 10th 1986. Her dad's name is Nishit, a Gujarati, while her mom is part Maharashtrian and part Caucasian (British).

Ayesha had never let her lack of speaking Hindi fluently come in her way. A go-getter, she is no stranger to the silver screen and has faced cameras even at the tender age of 4. The makers of 'Socha Na Tha' approached her in 2004 to play the lead role opposite Dharmendra's nephew, Abhay Deol, which she accepted.

Ayesha also signed up for another film, 'Tarzaan The Wonder Car' - which proved to be her debut in Bollywood, as the release of 'Socha Na Tha' was delayed. With 'Tarzaan The Wonder Car' Ayesha quickly made her mark in Bollywood and not only was noticed but also received an Award - The Best Filmfare Debut.

Thereafter, her films have done poorly at the Box Office, although she scored highly with teen-aged audience in India and abroad, especially with her performance in 'Dil Maange More', and 'Shaadi No.1'.

She also appeared in a 2006 Telegu movie named 'Robbery', which was later dubbed into Hindi and released as 'Super'. And then came Dor - in which she plays a role without any glamor - a film that brought a lot of praise and much-need recognition for her. Here she has proved that she can enact both sexy and glamorous on one hand, and the more ordinary, next-door-type girl roles with ease.

Buxom Ayesha is married to her long time boyfriend Farhan Azmi. She is a vegetarian, and enjoys going for long drives, reading, spending time with family, amongst others.

Today, Ayesha is one of the most gorgeous and beautiful actresses - much sought after by movie makers, and a force to be reckoned with - especially for other leading ladies of Bollywood.

Ayesha Takia Trivia

She is a Mumbaite and comes from a mixed family. Her father is Gujarati, and her mother is half British and half Maharashtrian.
She listens to loads of trance, rock music, and also love Ghazals. Her favorite Indian artists are Ghulam Ali and Abeeda Parveen.
In her free time, she enjoys listening to stories, listening to music, reading, long drives, sitting at cafs over conversation with people she likes, and spending time with family, mostly with her mom.
She is a pure vegetarian.
Her favorite actors from childhood are 'Aamir Khan'Newman' and 'Shahrukh Khan'. Her favorite actresses are 'Sridevi' and Rani Mukherjee. Ayesha finds there are many good directors, but she has always liked Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
When she is not acting she reads books, goes for long drives, and meets her friends in the industry.
She is a person who is very much attached to animals. Encourages people to stop using leather and other products which are tested on animals and to be kind to animals.
Won the Filmfare Best Debut Award 2004 for Taarzan.
In 2006, she was amongst the Top Ten on the listing of India's 50 Most Desirable Women Alive, a poll conducted by Zoom, an Indian TV channel.

Aftab Shivdasani Biography

Aftab Shivdasani (born 25 June 1978 at Mumbai, India) is an Indian film actor.

Aftab Shivdasani graduated from HR College of Commerce in Mumbai. Aaftab was a fairly well-known child star appearing in films such as Mr India, Shahenshah, and Insaniyat but first broke ice in Bollywood with a starring role in 1999's Mast. In this Ram Gopal Verma-directed film, he starred opposite Hindi actress Urmila Matondkar. Nevertheless, Aaftab's film career is not considered extremely successful. This could be attributed to his choice of roles and films as well as his shying away from serious characters. Despite these setbacks, he has appeared in hits like Awara Paagal Deewana, Hungama and Masti, and he remains one of the well known faces among Indian audiences. Aftab also won the best new comer award for his debutant movie Mast in 1999. Aaftab's height is 5'11.

Amitabh Bachchan Biography, Impages, Wallpapers, Filmography, Pictures and Latest Updates

Posted: 05 Oct 2010 12:36 AM PDT

Amitabh Bachchan Biography

Son of well known poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. He has a brother named Ajitabh. He completed his education from Uttar Pradesh and moved to Bombay to find work as a film star, in vain though, as film-makers preferred someone with a fairer skin, and he was not quite fair enough. But they did use one of his other assets - his deep baritone voice - which was used for narration and background commentary. He was successful in being cast in Saat Hindustani. He got his break in Bollywood after a letter of introduction from the then Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi, as he was a friend of her son Rajiv Gandhi. This is how Amitabh made an entry in Bollywood, starting with Zanjeer, co-starred with his future wife-to-be Jaya Bhaduri, and since then there has been no looking back. He married Jaya Bhaduri, an actress in her own rights, he has two kids, Shweta and Abhishek. Shweta has been married, lives a non-filmy life and has a child. Being friends with Rajiv Gandhi, got him to decide to run for seat in the Congress from his hometown but had to leave midterm because of controversies, particularly after Rajiv and he were implicated in the now infamous "Bofors" case along with the U.K. based Hinduja Brothers. After a four year break, he was back in the unsuccessful Mrityudaata (1997), a comeback which the actor wanted to forget. Critics written him off but his career was saved with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998). But four flops in 1999 and incurring debt of over 90 Crores rupees of his sinking company ABCL saw him at an all-time low. To make matters worse, after the defeat of the Congress party, Amitabh lost considerable political support, the opposition made him a target, and his credit rating deteriorated to such an extent that a leading nationalized bank, Canara Bank, sued him for outstanding loans. He did bounce back, presenting the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire called "Kaun Banega Crorepati?" (2000). After a series of hits with Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001) and Baghban (2003) and his most recent Khakee (2004), a 60 plus Bachchan is showing no signs of slowing down and proving the critics wrong once again. His son Abhishek is also an actor by his own rights. Amitabh and Jaya were interested in getting Abhishek married to Karishma Kapoor, the daughter of Babita and Randhi Kapoor, they went through a formal engagement, but later broke it off.Now Ajitabh and the rest of the family have recently consulted an astrologer and compared the astrological charts of former Miss World and Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai, with that of Abhishek, hoping that they are compatible, and if so, Amitabh may get his only son married around September, 2006. However, a number of events contributed to the delay, as prayers and Havans were performed to remove any doubts about Aishwarya being a Manglik, and finally both youngsters were formally engaged on Sunday January 14, 2007, at the Bachchan residence in Juhu, Bombay, with the marriage taking place at the Bachchan residence on April 20, 2007.Currently, he is one of the most busiest actors and singers in Bollywood as well as on TV, as can be seen from the commercials that he appears on, especially on Sahara One. Looks like there are no limits for this super-star and once the "Angry Young Man". of Bollywood.

Amitabh Bachchan Trivia

Arguably India's greatest ever superstar.

Although Amitabh Bachchan's Immaan Dharam (1977) proved to be a disaster, the producer went ahead and announced Asmaan with Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha, with Mohan Kumar in the director's seat. Ajay Devgan Biography, Impages, Wallpapers, Filmography, Pictures and Latest Updates

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 11:37 PM PDT

Ajay Devgan Biography

Both the debutantes of a hit film titled Phool Aur Kaante of the early 90s had one thing in common in store for them; they would be recognized very well in their consecutive films.

Madhu's portrayal in and as Roja will forever stay in viewers minds. And Ajay Devgan has reached superstardom with a series of well-enacted roles in some good films.

Though the Devgan boy shifted from doing dishum dishum stuff quite sometime back, the definite departure was noticed in Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha.

Son of ace fight-master Veeru Devgan, Ajay was exposed to films at a very early age. He accompanied his father on several occasions to film set-ups and shooting schedules. At his age, he must have been impressed by the stunts his father directed. So, when he grew up and entered films, Ajay did some hair-raising stunts in his films.

Being the son of a fight master and fond of performing stunts, Devgan's earlier films were more of the violent nature. The trend in his career changed with Ishq, a soft romantic comedy where he was paired opposite Kajol.

Soon, Ajay's potential as a romantic hero capable of delivering emotional performances was discovered and the actor did not mind the change. After a couple of films came Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Ajay became hot property.

Ajay Devgan Trivia

Dated Karisma Kapoor before his marriage to Kajol
Dated Kajol for five years before they got married
Son of Veeru Devgan and Veena Devgan. Brother of Anil Devgan. Son-in-law of Bollywood actress Tanuja Mukherjee.
Won National Award for Cinema twice.

Aamir Khan Biography

Aamir Khan was first introduced as a child artiste in the 1970's hit Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) -- he was the youngest child in the trio. Aamir 'quit' movies and went on to become the state tennis champion for Maharashtra. Aamir also fell in love with the girl next door in the meantime. He proposed to her the day he turned 21, and she accepted. But apparently, there was opposition since she was from a Hindu family and he, from a devout Islamic one. So, they eloped, got married and returned to their homes. Aamir's wife Reena even appears in the song "Papa Kehte Hain" that made him the darling of the nation. From the tremendous success of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), which was released when he was 23, he has blossomed into India's finest actor. His list of sterling performances include Dil (1990), _Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1990)_ , _Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992)_ , Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Rangeela (1995), Raja Hindustani (1996), Ishq (1997), Ghulam (1998) and Sarfarosh (1999).His performance in Earth (1998) as the Ice-Candy man has received rave reviews from Indian and International critics.
