Updated at: 0208 PST, Sunday, November 28, 2010 KARACHI: A cargo plane has been reportedly crashed near Dalmia area in Gulistan-e-Johar locality, Geo News reported late Saturday.
According to sources, police, rescue workers, law enforcing agencies trying to reach the crash site.
According to reports, it was a Russian made plane. Dalmia is a thickly populated area near Gulistan-e-Johar.
Earlier, people claimed hearing a powerful explosion, which appeared a plane crash.
Hundreds of people have arrived on the spot while the crash site is on fire and thick smoke emitting from the scene, eyewitnesses said.
Another eyewitness Adnan, said the right engine of the plane, appeared to be PIA's plane, whose right engine caught fire first then while preparing to take turn, it crashed into ground.
Reports said there were 8 passengers on board which was bound to Khartoom, the capital of Sudan.

On Friday, the Shiv Sena launched a fresh attack against Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan.
In the party's mouthpiece Saamna, SRK has been severely criticized for agreeing to perform at a function for a Pakistani TV channel on the second anniversary of the 26/11 terror strike in Mumbai.
But SRK's office in Mumbai claims that the superstar hasn't taken on any such assignment and that he is presently shooting for Farhan Akhtar's film Don 2 in Berlin, Germany.
However, the scathing editorial in Saamna said that SRK lived in India, worked in Mumbai, constructed "a palace" (Mannat Bungalow in Bandra) in Mumbai but agreed to do a song-and-dance for a Pakistani TV channel in London, ostensibly to help the victims of the recent floods there.
Earlier this year too, the Shiv Sena had targeted SRK for his comment favouring the inclusion of Pak cricketers in IPL tournament. The party had tried to forcibly halt the release of SRK's film My Name Is Khan.

After a lot of rescheduling, ALLAH KE BAHDAY is finally releasing this Friday. The multi-talented Faruk Kabir is the writer, director as well as the actor. Sharman Joshi, who was part of last year's super success 3 IDIOTS, and a powerhouse of acting, Naseeruddin Shah are also part of the ALLAH KE BANDAY cast. Infact the highlight of the film is Sharman Joshi, best known as a comedy actor and charmed with his chocolate boyish looks, playing gangster for the first time. This is also the first time we see Sharman in a rugged appearance, in a noir style.
Set majorly in the slums of Mumbai, the film instantly reminds one of the Oscar-winning SLUMDOG MILLIONNAIRE. One has to say, the portrayal is much more real this time around.
Vijay (Sharman Joshi) and Yakub (Faruk Kabir) are two young boys who want to establish themselves in the world of crime. They are wrongly sent to juvenile prison and proven guilty for a crime that they didn't do. In the prison, they are severely tortured by the warden (Naseeruddin Shah), whom they soon get removed from the prison. While serving their sentence in the prison, they devise various plans to rule the crime world which they would implement after their release. After coming out from the prison 11 years later, they start their mission to be the top criminals and start eliminating their detractors.
Without wasting any time, director Faruk Kabir draws you into the story. You are absorbed into the world of Vijay and Yakub right from the word go with many gritty moments. But the graph falls after a while.
If you are looking for some solid screenplay, a motivational theme, a lifetime remembering music, and some extraordinary spellbound movie, you are at a wrong place.
Break Ke Baad is going to provide you none of these if you are planning to watch this movie. For anything other than these, you can enjoy it in a lighter mode.
Connectivity is a big problem in this movie, the sequence, the threads, the viewer getting hooked to screen as long as movie is running is missing in Break Ke Baad.
Though is has a good theme but probably not handled properly in a manner to engage viewer or go into the depth of the issue taken up.
It talks about the freedom and space required or misses in a relationship. The movie is not a regular love story with lovers roaming and meeting in garden, singing song around tree and all that.
So many other movies in the past have been more impressive than this one. Break Ke Baad is Danish Aslam's debutant entry in direction field.
For Danish Aslam one thing is sure to say after watching this movie that for directing his next movie, he will have to work hard and get much deeper to get the best out of any theme.
Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone fans might not feel good after watching the movie as both these talented actors have not been exploited at stretch in this loosely woven story.
At some moment of time it may become quite difficult to linger on with the story and one may feel to leave it in between and go out.

Despite it being a romantic comedy with all necessary ingredients of a masala caper, this Friday's release Break Ke Baad has made a dull start at box office.
To start with, BKB was not promoted extensively and the buzz around the Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan chemistry was clearly missing. On Friday the film opened to an all India response of around 35 to 40 percent. Only in select multiplexes was the occupancy close to 50 percent. The audience reaction to the film is mixed and so are the reviews by critics, with some panning it while others praising it.
The other release of the week, Allah Ke Banday had a poor start. The film witnessed a nationwide response of 10 to 15 percent. Even positive reviews by some critics did not ensure greater footfalls by Friday evening.
Likewise, the last week's release Guzaarish has fared poorly at box office. The film's first week business is around Rs. 22 crore, which makes it a flop.
On the other hand, Golmaal 3, which released on Diwali is still doing quite well. It has so far done the business of more than Rs 100 crore and still counting.
