The Simpsons started a new cartoon trend
The cartoons of the 90 s brought us such shows as The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, Futurama, South Park, and Beavis and Butthead. Cartoons yes, but not exactly any that you would want to plop your toddler or preschooler in front of. Probably not even your elementary-age child. Cartoons for adults were the thing of the day.
With Hub TV bringing back some oldies like
My Little Pony,
Strawberry Shortcake, Pound Puppies, and GIJoe, should any cartoons from the 90 s be brought back? Or are
Dora the Explorer and
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse here to stay?
“Oldies” but goodies from back when cartoons were mostly found afterschool or on Saturday mornings:
*
Gummy Bears Bouncing here and there and everywhere….sing it with me! No? Just me?
*
Smurfs You can actually find them now on the Hub and in a movie next summer. I’ve always wondered: if there were “three apples high” why couldn’t Gargamel find them? That’s a pretty big blue creature.
*
Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies Another that has me singing:
Muppet babies, their little dreams come true….
*
Pinky and the Brain Maybe one day they really will take over the world.
*
Animaniacs Another with lots of songs- some even tried to be educational.
All cartoons that were just fun. Like the
Care Bears from my childhood. Most cartoons now are focused on educational themes. Do you prefer educational cartoons for your kids or is there room for ones that are just fun to watch?
