LG Ally To Get Android 2.2 Update In February Posted: 27 Dec 2010 04:16 PM PST Do you still remember the Android 2.1 powered LG Ally, which was launched back in May on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless? We have a good news for the LG Ally users. After the long wait, Android 2.2 (FroYo) update is finally coming to this mid-range smartphone in February. LG Ally features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution, 600 MHz processor, Android 2.1 OS, Slide-Out QWERTY Keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera with Autofocus and Flash, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, A-GPS, Visual Voice Mail, Android Market, 3.5mm Headset jack, Up to 450 mins talk-time, up to 500 hrs stand-by time and more. LG Ally recently received a software update, but the owners were disappointed since it was just a minor software update and not the Android 2.2 (FroYo) update. A moderator at the LG Forum recently said that LG Ally owner will finally get the much awaited Android 2.2 update in February 2011. It is still unknown whether the Froyo upgrade will allow them to run Adobe Flash Player 10.1, since the specs of this handset is lower than the Adobe's hardware requirements. Samsung Fascinate And Vibrant Android 2.2 Update Rolling Out In Canada Posted: 27 Dec 2010 09:20 AM PST Samsung has been slowly rolling out the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Galaxy S handsets all over the world. A couple of days ago, Samsung started offering the Froyo update for all the operator branded Galaxy S handsets in the U.K. Today, the company has started rolling out the Froyo update for the Vibrant as well as the Fascinate in Canada. The Vibrant is offered by Bell, SaskTel and Virgin mobile while the Fascinate is offered by the TELUS. Earlier, Samsung released the Android 2.2 Froyo update schedule for the Galaxy S line-up in Canada. The schedule stated that the TELUS branded Fascinate will get its update in early 2011. Surprisingly, Samsung managed to release the update just before the current year ended. Vibrant and Fascinate owners can update their handset to Android 2.2 Froyo by using Samsung KIES. Sony Ericsson Mysterious New Handset Pictures Leak Posted: 26 Dec 2010 11:55 PM PST The PlayStation Phone from Sony Ericsson is already one of the most anticipated handsets of 2011. We also know that Sony Ericsson will be launching the Anzu/X12 next year. However, the guys over at Blog Of Mobile, have managed to get their hands on leaked pictures of a never seen before Sony Ericsson handset. Along with this, they have also found tons of images shot from the phone and the phone seems to be sporting an 8MP camera. From the leaked picture shown above, it is clearly visible that the microUSB connector and the 3.5mm jack are located at the top on this mysterious handset. The handset also sports a very large front facing camera, possibly for HD video calls. The handset also seems to be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Sony's Mediascape UI on top of it. The company will be announcing a slew of new Android handsets at the upcoming MWC (Mobile World Congress) in 2011. Earlier, Sony announced that they aim of becoming the largest Android handset manufacturer in 2011. Looking at the current state of Android offerings from Sony – the Xperia X10 family – all I can say is that the company needs to come up with some really good Android handsets to backup its statement. De-Clutter to Sell Your Home Fast Posted: 27 Dec 2010 02:00 AM PST As you prepare your home to sell, you will need to get rid of clutter. Some of what you think of as part of daily life and don’t consider to be clutter can get in the way of helping buyers to see themselves in the space. Some people find it hard to de-clutter a home they are selling of they are still living in it. It isn’t easy, but the temporary inconvenience pays off because you’ll likely sell your home faster than you would if you left everything as it is. If you remember than all the cleaning up you do now means you will have less to do as you pack to move once the house is sold, you will feel better about it. Purge your home of items you don’t use and have been meaning to throw out/give away Clear off the kitchen and bathroom counters (You can put necessary items into a box that can be kept out of site when you don’t need it). Consider taking all the books from the bookshelves. If you don’t want to do this, at least make sure the books look neat and remove any books that seem too personal or that you think may offend someone. The actress hasn't taken kindly the apparent doctoring of her image in which her skin has been made paler to give her a Caucasian appearance. And reports say that she might even consider suing the magazine if indeed it is proved beyond doubt that her skin was made fairer. Lately, Ash has been occupied with her father's illness and hasn't been very forthcoming in her reaction towards the controversy. But sources close to her are quoted as saying that she's shocked that leading magazines still resort to racist prejudice while pitching models and actresses on their covers.

Aamir Khan wanted to play an 18-year-old in 'Dhobi Ghat' Posted: 27 Dec 2010 06:41 PM PST At 45, Aamir Khan is still game for playing an 18-year-old. Well, such was the irresistible charm of the character that his wife Kiran Rao had penned in her directorial debut Dhobi Ghat. When Aamir heard the script, he was so bowled over by it that he wanted to act in it. And he wanted to play the role of an 18-year-old dhobi. But the role eventually went to Prateik Babbar. "When I heard all the characters, I really liked Prateik's character and wanted to do that. But the character requires someone who looks 18-19 years old. So to prove it to Kiran that I can look that young, I did 3 Idiots. But she still didn't agree. Thankfully she gave me some role in her film," Aamir said while promoting the film at Andheri. The media persons were surely surprised to see Aamir at the do because earlier at the unveiling of the first look of the film, his wife Kiran Rao had said that she wants Aamir to stay away from the promotions so that limelight is not taken away from the movie. "I was never meant to be away from the promotions of the film. I'm very proud of the film and I'm part of it, since I'm the producer and have also acted in it. Even Kiran can't keep me away from it," Aamir said. Set to release on January 21, Dhobi Ghat also stars Monica Dogra, Kriti Malhotra, Kitu Gidwani and Nafisa Khan. It tells the story of four characters in downtown Mumbai. Though each comes from a different class of society, their lives are subtly intertwined.

After Katrina Kaif's appearance to promote Tees Maar Khan, it's Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan who are now on the show for their film No One Killed Jessica. On Friday, the two ladies launched the music of the film on the TV show Bigg Boss 4, which, as you all know, is hosted by Salman Khan. The film's director Rajkumar Gupta was also there. But it was Rani and Vidya who hogged the limelight as they yapped away jovially on the show and even planted kisses on Salman Khan's finely shaved cheeks.
