Robot the 'costliest Indian movie ever made' should look for other means to recover the costs now. The Hindi version of the Rajnikant starrer Endhiran has lost out in the box office race to the young heartthrob of India-Ranbir Kapoor. Both the movies-Robot & Anjaana Anjaani were hyped and eagerly awaited. But only Anjaana Anjaani seemed to have scored with the audience. Both the movies had released together after the Ranbir starrer's release date was postponed owing to Ayodhya verdict. Anjaana Anjaani left Robot far behind with it's initial weekend earning of Rs.260 million as compared to Robot's Rs70 million. That's the state of Robot in the North, but the South of India is going gaga over Endhiran that's amassed a massive Rs.1 billion earning. At least the South managed to rake in profit for the movie that has a budget of Rs 1.75 billion. 
“In North and West Delhi, Anjaana Anjaani has done better vis-a-vis Robot and Khichdi with 80-85 percent occupancy while the others got only 50-60 percent and 20-30 percent occupancies respectively,” said Deepak Taluja, senior vice president (Business and Operations) of Fun Cinemas.”While in the rest of the city, Robot took over with above 85 percent occupancy, Anjaana Anjaani and Khichdi got only 70-75 percent and 10-15 percent respectively,” he added. Rajnikant once again defied all logic & sense of reasoning but this time in a more plausible way with his movie Robot. The 61yr old played his character well and lived upto his nothing-is-impossible image! Anjaana Anjaani was however better appreciated in the North mostly maybe because the audience preferred the pair Ranbir-Priyanka. The young couple was went down well with them rather than the Rajnikant-Aishwarya story. Aishwarya who was looking for a comeback after her last disaster titles Raavan wouldn't be as happy with the state of affairs regarding Robot. The other movie that's making less of a noise is the popular TV series remake Khichdi-The Movie which was lost in the battle between Anjaana Anjaani & Robot. It could gross only Rs55million. Although popular as a TV show, the imperfect timing seemed to have killed its effect. Jayendra Banerji, vice president (Operations) of Satyam Cineplexes, said: “The weekend was quite special and we had a very good occupancy with all Anjaana Anjaani, Robot, Enthiran, Khichdi doing well. Even Dabangg is still going strong on limited screens.” “Most of the shows for Anjaana Anjaani went houseful with over 90 percent occupancy while both Robot and Enthiran did well with close to 80 percent occupancy. Khichdi was comparitively less with 40 percent,” he added. Amit Shah, chief manager (Programming) of DLF DT cinemas, however, said : “The weekend was good. All three movies did good business. Anjaana Anjaani was on top with 60-65 percent occupancy while Robot on second with 50 percent. Khichdi managed 35-40 percent. All three films had a mixed reaction as they are from different genres. These will extend because there is not much content in the second week,” |

Starting from the contestants inside the house to the people outside it, the show is all in all walking trouble even for its own self. Officially viewers got to see a lot of trouble inside the house because of the contestants hailing from a variety of dark backgrounds but the political trouble also formed part of the package on the very first day as Shiv Sena and MNS threatened to ruin the show running because of the presence of Pakistani contestants particularly the lawyer of Kasab the terrorist who was convicted for the Mumbai 26/11 attack. Further developments based on this controversy have Bal Thackeray the chief of Shiv Sena mouthing out words which come in a form of threat that whatever may happen but they will indeed stop the show and no law and order would be able to bar them in doing so. The reality show Big Boss season 4 started out on October 3rd and has gathered a lot of publicity for the ill events that have happened in the house within a very short term. Also the show is this time being hosted by Salman Khan with a more desi take rather than formalities. Big Boss is well known for incorporating a list of international contestants and this time there are many Pakistani contestants who are a part of it and this has somehow not worked well with Shiv Sena and MNS who are after the show makers now. |
| Amrapali Dubey to play Reet in Mera Naam Karegi Roshan Posted: 05 Oct 2010 04:16 AM PDT  Sana Shekh The popular television soap Mera Naam Karegi Roshan that is showcased on the channel Zee TV is all set to bring in a new face that will step into the shows of the protagonist character Reet essayed by Sana Shekh. The buzz that was making rounds about the change was backed upon San's desire to take a break from the show that she had proposed to the producers almost two months back based on certain issues that she related to as personal. Insider sources revealed that Sana was facing troubles with the hectic schedules and this all gave way to health issue that left the actress in a state of absolute distress. Sana wanted to leave then but she adjusted back her decision and contemplated on staying and working on, but it seems that the actress will be more than happy if she was exempted from the show. Keeping this in mind the show producers are in search of a face that can replace the actress and play the part of Reet with equal intensity.  Amrapali Even though nothing much is known about who exactly will be taking down Sana's part but the news making rounds is that Amrapali Dubey, a part of Palkhon Ki Chaon Mein a show on Imagine will be taking her spot on the show. Even though the finalization is not officially out but it is more or less expected. Talking about the quit, Sana Shekh told media that the news about her leaving the show is true and that she had already discussed about this with her show producers a long time back but now since it is actually happening the step will indeed be a positive thing. |
| Big Boss 4’s Bunty act a publicity stunt? Posted: 05 Oct 2010 03:59 AM PDT  Bunty The malicious behavior put up by Devender Singh aka Bunty, the very first evicted contestant from the Big Boss house this season came as a shock to many. But this was not at all surprising for the Dibakar Banerjee, the director of film Oye Lucky Oye that was based on Devender's life. Dibakar told media that the very first time he met the conman behind prison had him sensing the fact that Bunty was not balanced in a way and there was something peculiar about his behavior. Dibakar had a short meet with the conman and he was told by prison authorities that Devender was facing troubles with the authorities that were responsible for the prison. Many people who saw the first episode were taken aback by the way Devender aka Bunty behaved. The big thing was that he was made the head of the house and even after that he displayed an aggressive lot of attitude that made viewers wonder if this was all being done simply for the sake of publicity or TRP. Bunty crossed all rules and limits, he abused, ignored and grew violent leading to immediate eviction after the situation grew worse. But Dibakar Banerjee wonders if this was only a publicity stunt. Even the insider sources from the channel revealed that Bunty has been evicted out of the show for good. In no situation Bunty will ever be called back to the show keeping in mind the brash acts he put up on the very first day that included abusing women, banging doors, damaging cameras and mikes as well as breaking all the rules. |
| Prabhu Deva’s wife takes a firm step with law on her side Posted: 05 Oct 2010 03:40 AM PDT  Prabhu Deva The wife of Prabhu Deva, Latha aka Ramalath, sent out a petition to the court dealing in family issues to ask Prabhu Deva to live with the family that includes his children and his wife. Latha's plea comes in response to the alleged love affair that the dancer cum actor has at the moment with actress Nayanthara. Latha complained that Prabhu has not been taking care of his family ever since he got involved with Nayanthara leading to major worries for Latha especially because of her kids with Prabhu. Latha and Prabhu tied the knot on the 8th of September 1995 as she had stated in her plea. The marriage was conducted in the traditional Hindu way and the two have three sons from the wedlock. Also just recently one of the three kids died in cancer. Latha stated in the plea that she suddenly noticed a change in Prabhu after he started working on his flick Villu as a director since he was noticeably moving away from his family. Latha got the air of an extra marital affair between her husband and the actress through rumors that were making rounds along with her well wishers coming to her and informing her about the addition in her husband's life. Recently Latha also found an interview of Prabhu that had his future plans of marrying Nayanthara and settling down with the actress. Due to these causes Latha tried to take the help of law to help her own self and her children avail the rights that they deserve. She immediately stepped towards the court and sent out a plea that demanded Prabhu's presence within the family. |

Akshay Kumar is the action packed star indeed and this is the reason why the charms and wits of gorgeous piggy chops did not give way to a new level that could have surpassed Akshay's talent at the adventure reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. This is the reason as to why the producers of the show have made up their mind to bring back the strong guy Akshay Kumar back to the show for its next season instead of any other host. According to the buzz the channel has already sent out its message to Akshay who is at the moment busy working on his television cookery show called Master Chef were Akshay plays the part of a host. This time Khatron Ke Khiladi season 3 could not fetch the amount of response it had gained during the previous two seasons, reason being Priyanka's poor hosting capability. Miss. Chopra was definitely high on the glamour quotient but the depth of an adventure reality show host simply lacked from her performance. This was the reason for the low TRP's as the show was not what it had been before, a total package of serious stunts with a death defying host who could undertake any stunt if the contestants were too scared to take it up. Previously the show was an all women thing with Akshay being the handy host who could multi task ranging from spooking the contestants to even making them comfortable with the stunt but this time Priyanka was only having fun. Getting Akshay back will indeed be a difficult job for the show makers as the star has a lot of things to discuss before things get started but let's see who will be the next host for the big show. |

The action king Akshay Kumar is playing the role of a simpleton Kishen who is bullied by everyone in 1965. In that era, he used to dedicate long working hours to his father's Surya Prakash Bhijanalaya. Revert to 2010 and he is the proud owner of Bollywood café, totally in awe of his wife Mala. Now he dedicates long hours looking for cheapest vegetables to buy. The beauty queen Aishwarya Rai is cast in the role of Mala who was earlier a tomboy, dressed exotically and laughed out loud. She just had guy friends. Cut to 2010 and she is just a bored Shopaholic. If her car stereo stops functioning, she does not go to buy a new stereo instead she will go hunting for a brand new car itself. Neha Dhupia plays the role of Mala's best friend, Mona. She just follows her wherever she is off to. Aditya Roy Kapoor is cast in the role of Bunty, who is the helpless child of Mala and Kishen. He is totally against the idea of matrimony, thanks to the bitter relationship of his parents. He is so desperate to brew love between his parents that he decides to travel back in time, to act as Cupid for his not yet married parents. He has this notion that he himself will not be able to marry unless everything is fine with his parents' marriage. Sudeepa Singh plays the role of Bunty's girlfriend. She loves him and even Bunty reciprocates her love but what leaves her wondering is the disappearance of Bunty every time she hints of marriage. Ranvijay Singh is cast as Kundan who is the ring leader of Mala's party. He is a sadist taking pleasure in making fun of Kishen. He never doubted getting Mala until the arrival of his rival Kishan and that is when the real action follows. Abstract Bunty throws a surprise party for his parents on their 35th wedding anniversary that is forgotten by yet another of their explosive disputes. This is when he decides to move back in time and change the history of Kishen and Mala's failed arranged marriage to a romantic and sweet affair between them. He gets hold of the professor's time machine to accomplish this task. He goes back to a time when his parents are not yet married and their parents i.e. Mala's mother Boli Devi and Kishen's father Rai Bahadur are bitter enemies. This was the time when Kishen was a toothy geek constansly bullied by his father and Mala was a tomboy who could not even stand the company of his father and derived great pleasure in making fun of him. Bunty is totally clear of his goal – he has to change his father favorably from a nerd to an eligible bachelor and his mother from a tomboy to a graceful female. But the greater task waits ahead – he has to make these two opposite individuals fall in love with each other. But it is not yet over. He has to also convince his grandparents for his parents' marriage. He has to accomplish this mountainous task to get his love Tanya and to live happily ever after.

This erstwhile MMS allegedly pictured on Ashmit Patel along with the ravishing Riya Sen is a hot topic of conversation in the Bigg Boss house.
