The Forbes magazine yesterday released its list of 100 most powerful women of the world & there are many surprise rankings out there. Let's talk about the surprise parts first. Lady Gaga has managed to beat U.S House speaker Nancy Pelosi as well as the Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor in the power race! There's more… the numero uno spot has been handed over to none other than the first lady of America-Michelle Obama. The Forbes list has a mixture of lady politicians, celebs & the who's who of the industry. But the editors seem to have made quite a tricky list here with names like Lady Gaga & Beyonce claiming top spots. The list also features names like Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Chelsea Handler, Heidi Klum, Sarah Jessica Parker, Gisele Bundchen, Rachael Ray and Martha Stewart. And why has the first lady been declared the most influential female? Well, Forbes seems to claim that Mrs. Obama's goodwill efforts for the sake of the U.S military forces and their families, has upped her slot in the power race. The first lady's advocacy for child nutrition betterment is also one of the reasons for her popularity. Forbes have also given her the thumbs up when it comes to her fashion sense, labeling her as 'Jackie Kennedy with a law degree'. The White House Oval Office's new design has also been credited to her. Forbes feels that it proves Michelle Obama happens to be a 'true change-maker since she has literally changed the Oval Office now! Forbes seem to have taken a different approach this time going for 'creative influence and leadership 'as the criteria of judgment. So Lady Gaga claims her slot for 'single-handedly reinvigorated pop music and pop culture.' R&B singer Beyonce Knowles is at number 9 may be because of her earning $80 million last year? Oprah Winfrey comes at number 3 & German Chancellor Angela Merkel at number 4. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's names is seen at number 5 position in the Forbes list of 100 most powerful women on Earth. |

The blast occurred during the busiest hours i.e. the evening prayer time when the Sufi shrine was the most crowded. The Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine is now blood splattered and an anxious crowd is thronging the place to get some news of their dear ones. President Asif Ali Zardari has condemned the attack and asked the people of Karachi to keep calm. Provincial Home Minister Zulfikar Mirza stated that although the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine is one of the best protected shrines of Karachi it wasn't possible to have foolproof security there. In a statement he said -”humanly, it is not possible to stop suicide bombers intent on exploding themselves”. He claimed that extremist forces were behind the attack but they wouldn't succeed easily. “We remain committed to fighting these murderers and expelling them from our land,” he said. The shrine is now being carefully examined by the security forces of Pakistan. A cleaning up operation ins underway as bodies are being removed from the place. In lieu of the attack the Sufi community has declared a 3-day mourning period. All Sufi shrines in Karachi will remain closed to show solidarity with the victims and condemn the attacks. An earlier attack in the Data Darbar shrine in Lahore had seen 40 dead & nearly 200 injured last July. The attacks are increasing & there is quite an unrest in the country. The Karachi bomb blast is the second such suicide bombing attack to hit Pakistan. |
| Mahesh Khaleja Movie Review: A very weak comeback for Mahesh Babu Posted: 07 Oct 2010 06:04 AM PDT  Mahesh Khaleja Movie The chocolaty boy is back on screen after a long wait of three years. Mahesh Babu looks as delightful and skilled as ever. But the depressing part is that a team of skillful artistes and technicians are pivotal for a successful movie and here, each one of them has disappointed with a superficial performance. Mahesh has got over scraping his nose with his finger, or gobbling his words and constantly moving with a bended head. Despite of all his efforts, Mahesh Khaleja fails to impress. The major drawback of this movie is the lead actress, Anushka. She is too tall and too old to be paired with the hero and has extremely blank expressions. In other words, she has still to learn the skill of acting which shows in the chemistry between the lead pair, which is an absolute zero. The plot of the movie is monotonous, dreary which is not helped a bit by the average music score of this film. The fifty crores invested in this movie seem to be absolutely wasted. Raju, the cab driver who is worshipped as a God in the movie by the villagers could not do anything to lift the script of Mahesh Khaleja. Mahesh Khaleja is focused on the life of a cab driver who arrives in an unfortunate village where he is looked up to as some divine intervention of God. Raju is confused but sets on a journey to get to the bottom of the mystery. There is nothing new in the movie that Trivikram has not tried before. His abilities as a writer are shown in a very poor light and he is not even able to exploit the true talent of Mahesh. The movie is brimming with violence, lackluster romance and even the dialogue delivery does little to impress. The only highlight of the movie is its lead actor who looks fresh, making his comeback after three long years, but even he has not been given any opportunity to showcase his skills. If you are a big fan of Mahesh Babu and would love to stare at him smiling or dancing, go ahead with the movie. But if you have any expectations beyond that, Mahesh Khaleja is not your cup of tea. |

A huge crisis is about to happen in the company. In the company and in the Transport Ministry all this is tied up with the new Vitaliy Saveliev. Instead of improving working facilities and increasing their salaries, the top-management of the company is intended to increase the flying time for each pilot from 800 to 900 hours a year. Airhostesses are actively leaving Aeroflot. The reason is scandal, which took place in summer 2010 when photographs were published, which were taken for the calendar for the VIP-passengers of the Aeroflot. A nude airhostess is posing for those photographs. The top-management of the Aeroflot quickly refused to have anything common with it. However, head of the PR-department and several other high-ranked workers were dismissed. This scandal became international. The Trade Union of the Australian airhostesses filed an appeal to the Department of the Civil Aviation of the International Transport Federation. According to the reports coming from Wallington of New Zealand TVNZ has fired its breakfast show host Paul Henry. Paul Henry has been emancipated from his job for committing a faux pas of mispronouncing the name of Delhi Chief Minister Miss. Sheila Dikshit.  Henry Dikshit Paul Henry did not stop after doing so once or twice rather he did it many times despite being told and that too a manner less way. He did it in his show. The cli8p of this episode of the show was uploaded on the website of the TVNZ. Paul Henry not only mispronounced his name but he also made fun of her name. While he was hosting a show on the name of CWG troubleshooter Sheila Dikshit he mispronounced her name to be "Sheila Dick Shit" Paul Henry also said that her name is not only difficult to pronounce but a kind of Dick Shit too. It really sounds a Dick and Shit. She looks like a Dick Shit, Paul Henry said. TVNZ has so far received seriously hot complaints about the disrespect shown to the Chief Minister of New Delhi in the clip. He did it despite being told to correct it. It is a clear proof that this is not a mistake rather it is a deliberate effort to humiliate India by using the name of an Indian. According to the president of New Zealand Indian Central Association Mr. Paul Singh Bains "The video was still being promoted on internet by the website. He also gave and earful to the administration of NZTV and the website for showing a lackadaisical approach towards such a sensitive issue. Paul Singh Bains also called it a deliberate attempt by the Paul Henry to insult India deliberately. He not only made mockery of Sheila Dikshit but he also dragged Governor General Sir Anand Satyanand and said that not even an inch of his flesh looks like someone of New Zealand. But that was enough for the TVNZ Chief Executive Mr. Rick Ellis emancipated him from his Breakfast Show. He added insult to the injury of Paul Henry and also ended his role as a Website Content Editor. Henry was also a Content Editor of the website of TVNZ where this humiliating video was uploaded. Keith Locke who is a human Rights Spokesperson of Greens made it clear that the clip was first given air on Friday. Locke also told DLN Reporters that the video aired was a specific graphics illustration of all the trash talk that he non-seismically and brazenly uttered like foolish, Brainless and Gumption less people about the Governor General Sir Anand Satyanand and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. This video has also shown the cultural insensitivity of Paul Henry. Locke also called it an attempt of racists to spoil the relations of two great nations. The Pakistani city of Karachi was the victim of another suicide bombing that took 9 lives while injuring 55. The suspected suicide blast occurred today in the Clifton district right at the entrance of the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine.
