| J&K Police conducts massive recruitment of Sub-Inspectors Posted: 09 Oct 2010 12:02 PM PDT The police of Jammu and Kashmir conducted selections on massive scale for 510 posts of sub-inspectors, the recruitment process for which was carried on throughout the state. This is for the first time ever that the police have conducted recruitment on such a grand scale since 2001 when just 255 Sub-inspectors were recruited for the Armed/Executive Wings of the Jammu & Kashmir Police. "Today, J&K Police completed the process of selection of Sub-Inspectors wherein 510 candidates have been selected which include 266 in Executive Wing, 210 in Armed Wing, 11 in Auxiliary Wing and 23 in Telecom Wing," said an official release. These posts were released for different departments of the J&K police for which the applications were invited through a public advertisement. It got an overwhelming response from the potential candidates. Various Boards at different Range levels have been set up to guarantee a fair and transparent selection process. The aspiring candidates were made to go through physical measurements/Endurance tests that were carried on by Recruitment Boards headed by the Chairman of Range DISG. The entire procedure of these tests was recorded on video to guarantee through and through transparency. The potential candidates who made it through these tests were put up through a written examination conducted in March this year in Jammu, Leh and Srinagar simultaneously. Afterwards, the short-listed aspirants were put through an interview conducted by the State Level Recruitment Board that was held in Jammu along with Srinagar. The interviews were carried out in April this year at Jammu and in May/June in Srinagar and despite the troubled times in the valley, the whole procedure was carried out in as less a time as possible. A merit list of all the successful candidates of the interview was made and 510 aspirants were selected as provisional Sub-Inspectors. The State Level Recruitment Board included ADGP Armed Law & Order, K.Rajindera, IGP (Personnel) PHQ, Sheik Owais, DIG Armed Police Kashmir, Shri Rouf-ul-Hassan, DIG Security, P.R. Manhas, DIG CKR, Srinagar Deepak Kumar and AIG (Personnel) N.D. Wani, lead by Chairman Kuldeep Khoda, DGP J&K. The short-listed candidates have been asked to join their respective range DIsG office as early as possible and the list of selected candidates has been put up at the official website of the Jammu & Kashmir Police. |

Robot with the invincible superstar of the South- Rajnikant remained invincible at the box office as well, toppling Dabangg's record nearly 4 times over. While Chulbul Pandey of Dabangg had wowed the hearts of Indians and grossed maximum profit crossing 3 Idiots record, Robot has made Rs 117 crore in the first week itself, ahead by 4 times as much! Endhiran the actual movie with superstars Rajnikant & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has had a massive profit down South. It's made Rs 60 crore in the state of Tamil Nadu, Rs8 & 4 crore respectively in Kerala & Karnataka. Andhra Pradesh saw Endhiran making Rs30 crore profit. It's dubbed Hindi version Robot too collected Rs15 crore. Having opened in nearly 2200 screens as compared to 1400 screens in Dabangg, it's obvious that the movie Robot should make more profit, setting a new record in 2010. Not only in India, Robot's success is being repeated world wide, with $1.56 million profit being made in Australia and $467,000 in UK. This weekend Malaysia and Singapore theatres played the movie which made $800,000. Although a dubbed movie, Robot doesn't let that affect it's box office record. The audience don't mind the dubbed Hindi & seem to love the sc-fiction about the lovable Robot played by the megastar & demi-god Rajnikant. Aishwarya Rai too has made a good comeback after her forgettable Raavan. But fact remains that her role in the movie doesn't involve anything more than just looking good. Even the music by A.R. Rehmaan seems to have disappointed many. Then what makes Robot click with the audience? The clichéd storyline of course doesn't hold the answer. Perhaps its just the fact that Rajnikant is starring in this movie & the special effects supposedly generated by the makers of Avatar. Whatever be the case, Robot has taken its hold over the box-office for now. If you haven't watched the movie yet, what are you waiting for? |

Recently Veena Malik and Shweta Tiwari had a little trouble as usual wherein Shweta was left making apologies to Veena. While every one else in the house has doubts about the relationship between Manoj Tiwari and Shweta Tiwari who have been together from the past 3years, the tiff between Veena and Shweta was too pretty much over the same. All viewers know that the Big Boss house is a good time for late hour talkers who utilize the night time for some really controversial chit chat so when Veena Malik who was lying in her bed asked Manoj Tiwari to come to her for a talking session along with Shweta Tiwari, the actress immediately commented upon Veena that she is so bold in her nature that she can call any one to her bed. Hearing this comment Veena was slightly upset and in return asked Shweta if she and Manoj were in a relationship with each other. Shweta Tiwari was absolutely shocked at this interrogation and she clearly stated out that there was nothing of this sort between her and Manoj even though people always find a way of talking about her and Manoj's status but they share nothing more than good friendship. Veena to this replied back that she is a very beautiful and attractive lady capable of charming any man she wants but in the Big Boss house all the male contestants are only brothers to her and nothing more. By the end of this conversation Shweta had nothing more to say then a whimpering sorry. |

Recently Mallika who has played the part of a snake woman in Hisss directed by Jennifer Lynch gave out threats that she can give a snake bite. Now if you are worried as to whether Mallika has actually turned into a snake woman then you can get off the guard since this was only a casual publicity threat that the actress gave out to the judges of the singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar. Mallika was their as a special guest and was making an appearance for being a part of the show and also promote her soon to be released flick amongst viewers and audience of the singing competition. But why did Mallika threat the poor judges which include Sajid-Wajid, Vishal-Shekhar and Daler Mehndi. Sources revealed that the actress warned the five men that if they made any negative remarks about the performance put up by contestants then she will mark them with a deadly snake bite. To this the judges were really compliant to her demand and also moved a leg or two on her famous dance number from the film Guru titled 'Maiyya Maiyya'. | Crook vs Do Dooni Chaar:Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor Fail to Attract Audience Posted: 09 Oct 2010 06:07 AM PDT  Crook This week two main movies released were Emraan Hashmi and Neha Sharma featured 'Crook' and the real life couple Rishi Kapoor and Nitu Kapoor featured 'Do Dooni Chaar'. 'Crook' could attract a small chunk of audience especially in Punjab belt of Northern India but 'Do Dooni Chaar' failed totally in its first week to draw out some favorable business. Punjab, in some districts, overwhelmingly welcomed the movie 'Crook' mainly because of its most popular song 'Challa' in those circles that attracted large number of people to see it on the silver screen. In a way Emraan Hashmi starrer 'Crook' has done handsomely in Punjab according to some sources but has not been able to draw large audience at all other places. If Punjab performance for 'Crook' can be stated as good, it is poor or average at most of the other places. Even with good song numbers, a new storyline and Emraan Hashmi himself could not do well at other places than Punjab unlike his earlier releases. Some sources put the blame on Emraan's role in this movie which is stated to be lacking the originality in character being played by him. Emraan's movies are also famous for smooching scenes with his heroines in bulk in his movies. Some hot scene promos also failed to draw attention of selective section of audience always interested for such crispy flavors in the movies. Coming weeks also does not seem to be favorable for both 'Crook' and 'Do Dooni Chaar'. Critics, though, have acclaimed the movie 'Do Dooni Chaar' but it has not been able to do good business so far. Even a good story and subject seem to fail in attracting audience. The blame for this good movie's failure, by some, goes to the cast which has no potential left now despite being big stars in the past. |

Big Boss is famous for spicy happenings inside the house right from its first series. In Big Boss first season release we had the coupling and decoupling of Anupama Verma and Mr. India fame Aryan Vaidya. The same has continued in all its seasons projected in one way or the other. In the recent running Big Boss IV being hosted by Salman Khan, the juice has started pouring in with the young Sara Khan trying to gel with Ashmit Patel. Sara Khan has been seen indicating Ashmit about her bitter going relations with her boyfriend Ali Merchant. Ashmit Patel is none other than the MMS scandal boy and brother of bollywood heroine Amisha Patel. Sara Khan is famous for her decent roles in television playing usually the sober daughter-in-law in TV serials. It is very difficult to find out if Sara is really disturbed and worried about her breaking relationship with Ali Merchant or is it just a rumor. Is Sara trying to attract Ashmit and planning to replace Ali with Ashmit is not clear. On the other hand when Ali Merchant was contacted to clarify the relationship between her and Sara, he confirmed that there is nothing wrong in their relationship and all is well between them. According to him Big Boss is just a crazy show full of lot of negative energies and hence such things start happening in that show. Reality is not clear right now whether Ashmit is also attracted towards Sara or is it just one sided? Whether Sara has broken her relationship with Ali long back or is it just a rumor? | Powerful Storms in Bangladesh leave many without shelter and roof Posted: 09 Oct 2010 04:36 AM PDT  Storms in Bangladesh Three days of nonstop storms in Bangladesh have resulted in destroying the homes of some half a million innocent lives on this Saturday. Besides this some 15 people were also reported as killed in the raging storms. Some 50 people were reported gone missing by the tensed family members and near and dear ones. These figures were reported by the local media on Saturday. The reports had also mentioned that initially some two hundred people who were fishermen were also reported missing from the reagion of Bay of Bengal this Thursday but then 150 of the reported had come back to the confines of safe shore till Friday. There are many innocent Bangladeshi who are killed almost every year due to the havoc kind storms. In the November of 2007 there was a report of some 3500 people being killed by the destructive cyclone named Sidr, also in 2009 there was another destructive cyclone called Aila who took away the lives of hundreds of men. Some 15 million people were reported to be living in these coastal areas in their small huts constructed from straw and sticks of bamboo. These villages and towns were reported been troubled by high five foot powerful waves which are approximately 1.5 meters in height. The villagers have very few resources which can save them from the wrath of the angry sea and nature with the living and surviving circumstances deteriorating minute by minute. These storms also caused 300mm that is 12 inches of heavy rains causing strong flash floods in the region. |

 Anil Kapoor Anil Kapoor's overseas take started with his flick Slumdog Millionaire with Danny Boyle, wherein he played the part of a quiz show host. With the film winning recognition from all corners, even Anil courted spotlight from international quarters. After this Anil got the chance to share the screen with Kiefer Sutherland in prime time Hollywood television series named 24. But now Anil Kapoor has bagged a jack pot with the confirmation that he will be starring alongside Tom Cruise for the fourth sequel of action packed movie Mission Impossible part 4. Brad Bird, Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum are responsible for writing the script of the film. As for now it is still not clear whether Anil will be playing the part of a villain in the flick as per earlier reports, but insider sources confirm that Anil's character forms an integral part of the entire movie and is probably not the villain. No particular inputs have been declared and nothing can be said about Anil's character as it is not official yet but his presence is confirmed. Anil himself sported a tight lipped approach towards his character but he told media that the reports of his being approached for a role in Mission Impossible 4 is true and that he has agreed to be a part of the film. Anil did not mention anything about the role he is being offered or any other detail related to this but yes Anil is making it big all around with such international projects. |
| The new Twitter gets thumbs up from most live users Posted: 09 Oct 2010 02:05 AM PDT  The New Twitter version has hit the micro blogging sites select members around three weeks back and the response that this optimized version is getting is highly commendable. Even though the website hasn't yet released the version all over and is slowly reaching out to people, this will be made available all over very soon. The micro blogging site Twitter confirmed that the restyled version is gradually reaching out to more and more users hence through this the management is trying to figure out the reception that this change will receive from the users. The best part is that even though the changes were incorporated within the month of September but the response that this redesigning has generated is all in all universally pleasing unlike Facebook wherein even slight changes attract negative reviews from the users. So either the users of Twitter are absolutely no hum drums unlike Facebook users or else the micro blogging site has put up an exceptional effort of advancement. To this the answer lies in the second part confirming which Twitter CEO, Evan Williams has received humongous appreciation for this new addition. The features of this new twitter have a right and a left panel. While the left panel is more or less the same with search options and stream, the right panel has a lot updated. By buzzing on a tweet you can now withdraw a lot more information than before. Also one can now access media content like videos, pictures etc without having to divert from the site. Above this the site does not in any way seem scrambled up because of this new incorporation. |

Bigg Boss, season 4 is brewing with action. Shweta Tiwari, the TV actress who is also an inmate of the Bigg Boss house is again in the middle of a controversy. But this time for incidents that happened outside the premises of the Bigg Boss house. The hearsay according to the media hints that Tiwari may again be a victim of domestic abuse. Shweta's husband Raja Chowdry had to earlier face the police reprimand for domestic violence but this was apparently not sufficient to prevent him from indulging in the same offence again. The Malad police station officials have revealed that Shweta Tiwari had registered a non-cognizable offence against her husband, Raja Choudhry just three days before making her grand entry in the Bigg Boss house. The authorities at the above said police station also think that although the duo have been separated for as long a period as three years now but Tiwari's estranged husband is still in contact with the TV actress and often calls her and makes a point to visit her residence at Shiv Shakti Society (Malad West) every now and then. It was during one of these visits on 30 September that supposedly an inebriated Raja Chowdry barged into Shweta Tiwari's house and abused and hit her, due to which she got injured badly. Reports suggest that Shweta Tiwari lodged a complaint but not an FIR at the police station in Malad. Shweta is currently ensconced in the Bigg Boss house and it will be onl after this reality show that she can decide to go ahead to the court. |
| SS Chandran alias Nagaichuvai Selvar Passes Away Posted: 09 Oct 2010 12:24 AM PDT  S S Chandran Famous comedian and AIADMK's deputy propaganda secretary S S Chandran has died of heart attack yesterday night. He was quite active in both the fronts. He was 69 years of age. At the time of the severe heart attack he was returning to Mannargudi after attending a meeting. An immediate timely rush of doctors could not save him as he was declared dead after doctors examined him. Chandran has left a son and a daughter behind him. He got elected in Rajya Sabha in representing AIADMK from Tamil Nadu. Earlier his party wanted him to contest for Lok Sabha from Central Chennai in 2009 elections but he had to opt out due to health problems. The meeting was called by the party at Idumbavanam near Muthupet in Tamil Nadu where Chandran had to address in a public meeting. The Member of Parliament was main spokesperson representing AIADMK, the main opposition party in Tamil Nadu. All of a sudden he started having breathing problems but in no time he succumbed to the major heart attack. Though it is not clear yet that whether the doctors were called at the place where the problem occurred to him or he was taken to a nearest hospital by his party men. But an immediate attention was paid to him by arranging for the doctors and the doctors after examining him declared him dead. Chandran was having a popular name as 'Nagaichuvai Selvar' among political circle, friends and public. He was popular in both arenas due to his style and good nature. |

Sameer is also looking forward to directing a movie. Confirming the same he says that if he is successful in sticking around the Big Boss house till the end then the marriage plans will definitely shift to the next year but yes marriage is on the cards after the reality show. All these inputs were given by Sameer before he stepped into the house but the media also interrogated about the reaction of Neelam when Sameer accepted the reality show offer. To this Sameer replied that Neelam was very supportive about the entire thing but she was also worried about the reality show controversies however Sameer only considers his participation as a fun vacation. Sameer has lately been active as an actor and has worked for flicks like Fashion by Madhur Bhandarkar and I Hate Luv Storys by Karan Johar.  Endhiran Endhiran-The Robot is minting humongous sums and has surpassed the box office record of Salman Khan home production Dabangg too. The net collection that the flick has gained until now stands on a whooping Rs.117 crore while the first week box office record for Dabangg was 82 crore. Suniel Wadhwa the trade analyst and distributor of films informed that Endhiran has hit Rs.60 net collection in Tamil Naidu, As for Andhra Pradesh it is Rs.30 crore while in Karnatka the flick minted Rs.8 crore and in Kerala it is Rs 4 crore. The Hindi version that is The Robot collected Rs.15 crore. With this the movie has grossed a sum that beats Dabangg's two week collection with Endhiran's just one week. Even the opening of Endhiran was on a much wider scale than Dabangg, as the movie hit 2,200 cinema screens while Dabangg was limited to only 1,400. Insider sources revealed that since Endhiran has hit twice the number of cinema screens therefore the revenue that the movie will generate will also be four times that of Dabangg. Around 92% movie halls are screening Endhiran and the box office collection is also going great for the flick without any variations. Distributor of flick, Sunil Bohra informed that the Hindi version is receiving a good response from the public of Ghaziabad, Jodhpur and Meerut at both multiplexes and single cine screens. The south film market is slightly different because of the varying tax structure, but in any case the movie has netted out a gross amount that is more than the Aamir Khan staring Ghajini. |
