The event took place this Monday at Punjab Stadium. Inauguration was done by Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, Senior adviser to chief minister Punjab and Mr. Amer Aman, Head of Sales Warid Telecom. The event was witnessed by over 5,000 people. The participation was made by over 225 schools and colleges from both private and government sector. Glow sponsored this event to promote youth talent and to inculcate their interest in games. Warid has always been a forerunner in promoting such events and will continue to promote. PKNIC to Giveaway 5,000 Free Domains for Local Language Content Posted: 01 Nov 2010 04:11 AM PDT PKNIC to Giveaway 5,000 Free Domains for Local Language Content is a post from: ProPakistani Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Network Information Centre (PKNIC) have announced a joint initiative to launch local Internet content drive in the country. Under the program, PKNIC would offer 5000 FREE domains for those who would develop Local Content websites in Urdu or any other local language. PKNIC is the (ccTLD) operator for "pk domain". ccTLD stands for country code Top Level Domain which represents a country on the Internet. Speaking at the occasion, Chairman PTA, Dr. Mohammed Yaseen said
Chairman PTA appreciated the efforts of PKNIC management for this important project. PKNIC management highly valued the necessary endorsement of Chairman PTA for the joint initiative. Nokia Phones Get Official WordPress App Posted: 01 Nov 2010 02:03 AM PDT Nokia Phones Get Official WordPress App is a post from: ProPakistani To remain in-tact with wordpress blogs, Nokia handset users were tired of trying out WordPress Applications for their Nokia smartphone. Today, Automattic (the company behind WordPress) has announced its official application for Nokia Devices and is available is now live on the Nokia's Ovi Store for mobile apps. Currently supported phones include N97 Mini and X6. Application Supports WordPress 2.7 or higher (WordPress.com and self-hosted both). It's not yet compatible with Symbian3 devices like the N8, C6, C7 WordPress of Nokia is said to be more advanced than WordPress for iOS, as the latter still lacks text formatting (i.e. bold, italicize, blockquotes, etc.) as well as support for WP.com stats. Huawei Confirms its Settlement with Warid [Official] Posted: 31 Oct 2010 11:14 PM PDT Huawei Confirms its Settlement with Warid [Official] is a post from: ProPakistani Huawei's petition case for the winding up of Warid Telecom has entered a new phase in which the Parties have begun working towards an amicable settlement of the matter, said a statement issued by Huawei's PR firm. Earlier the rumors of settlement between both the companies were denied by Huawei. But today, Huawei has said that negotiations are underway. Huawei further said that there are significant steps still to be resolved and completed by Warid Telecom, but if these are expedited in a timely manner, the Parties believes there is a likelihood that the issue may be resolved in full. Meanwhile, the hearing of the petitions have been adjourned to December 2, 2010, in the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench. Huawei has sought the winding up of Warid Telecom over, as claimed by Huawei, Money owed by Warid in excess of US $ 100,000,000 (US Dollars One Hundred Million) and defaults on monthly payments for August and September 2010.
