Day 12 of No Dining Out December

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 06:10 AM PST

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend however they choose!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

I took the kids to Chickfila for breakfast with Santa yesterday. I spent $8 on breakfast but I got a free Santa pic.

Then I was bad and picked up a pizza for lunch. It was $13. If you haven’t tried the new Cheese Bites crust pizza at Pizza Hut… it’s good!

How are you doing?

SeeHere: Create 3×5 magnets of your children’s artwork for $2.18 shipped!

Posted: 11 Dec 2010 06:17 PM PST

I just had a great idea…..

SeeHere has their entire site on sale for 60% off when you use the code thankyou at checkout. It also all ships overnight for free!

Their magnets are on sale for $2 a piece. If you are like me, you have tons of kids drawings all over your fridge and you are running out of room! Well I took a picture of her drawing and turned it into a 3×5 magnet. Now her artwork can be permanently displayed on the fridge and it can even be used to hold MORE artwork.

Plus what grandparents wouldn’t love magnets of their grandchildren’s artwork? A very creative gift idea…

If you are wondering, that is me and Emily. She draws the cutest people.

Plus don’t forget about the 60 photo cards you can get for $4.90 shipped! They don’t have to be Christmas cards.

See Here: 60% of sitewide + free overnight shipping! Disney character plates for $6.40, Magnets for $2, Canvas Picture Tote for $9.99 and more!

Posted: 11 Dec 2010 06:08 PM PST

See Here is offering 60% sitewide on almost every item when you use the code thankyou at checkout. Plus it all ships free!

Here are a few things I have made at See Here this year:

Mini photo books are just $1.99 shipped after the code. The kids love looking at theirs!

Disney character plates for $6.40 shipped after the code. I gave them these for Christmas last year and they are still in great shape!

The canvas tote is just $9.99 shipped. I made one to tote my coupons in and I LOVE it. Plus it is a great conversation starter. This thing is really big too!

Photo magnets are just $2 shipped. These are a great gift because everyone can use magnets. Especially ones that make them smile.

Your Disney Vacation: Disney World in November

Posted: 11 Dec 2010 01:50 PM PST

One of my readers was able to visit Disney World November 20th – 22nd, 2010. This is her story.

We went to Disney World on November 20-22. This was an early Christmas present from my mom (THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH MAMA!!!). Myself, my husband, my two kids, my sister and her husband and my mom and dad all went. It was my kids (ages 9 years and 20 months) first time going to Disney. It had been my dream for years to take my oldest. I don't know who had more fun, me or the kids!!!

On our first day we visited The Magic Kingdom. When I walked onto Main Street USA I got goose bumps! I could not believe we were FINALLY at Disney!!! We immediately spotted a character (Daisy) and got in line to get autographs and a picture. My youngest screamed when it was our turn to meet her! She did not like any of the characters! =( She was excited about them all until it was our turn and then she cried! Poor baby! My oldest enjoyed meeting the characters with me! I insisted on the youngest getting a picture with them too even though she cried. I wanted her to have pictures when she got older. The highlight for her was the parade when she got to sit on her Daddy's shoulders and watch! She was so excited to see "Mouse" (that's what she calls Mickey and Minnie)! We explored as much of the Magic Kingdom and rode as many rides as we could but I know we missed a lot so we will definitely have to go back one day and do everything we missed!

The next day we went to Blizzard Beach. My oldest and his dad had fun riding the water rides together. I think all of the grownups had a blast. Almost everybody went down that huge slide that drops straight down. I did NOT!!! It was a little cool on this day to be at a water park but we still had fun!

Our last day was spent going to Animal Kingdom. WOW!!! I have never seen so many animals!!! My favorites were the meerkats! We all loved the safari ride! My oldest was brave enough to ride Expedition Everest and said it was AWESOME!!! We rode almost every ride there but I wish we had seen more shows! We got to see another wonderful parade and met Mickey. I was very sad to leave Animal Kingdom because I knew our trip was over and we would be leaving the next morning. Someday we are definitely going back to Disney! I would LOVE to make it a yearly event! I am really going to have to start "Couponing to Disney"!!!
