BJP Wins by More Than 80% Margin in Gujarat Civic Polls

It was a big day for BJP in Gujarat. The poll results for the civic polls for Gujarat had to be announced today. It was a clean sweep for BJP when it won with the clear cut majority nullifying the presence of congress party to a large extent.

The six municipal poll results went totally in favor of BJP with a clear cut two-thirds majority in five of them.

All credit goes to the Chief Minister Narendra Modi for this huge victory as he put no efforts to gain the trust and confidence of the common man of Gujarat during these civic elections campaign period.

The two thirds majority has come in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Bahvnagar and Rajkot. Jamnagar is the only place where BJP could not get a clear cut two-thirds majority.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi, Welcoming the excellent performance of BJP in these municipal elections in Gujarat, gave a big thanks to the Muslim community in the state that came at large and voted in his favor. A large volume of Muslims are said to support him in these elections.

Modi has estimated that more than thirty percent of the Muslims are in favor of BJP in these elections. Only because of the support of Muslims such results with huge margins were possible, he stated. Modi was giving a speech in front of a rally gathered to congratulate him for his marvelous success in the state.

Modi said – This (electoral support from Muslims) will dispel all the myths regarding Muslims of Gujarat,” Modi has already completed nine years as chief minister of Gujarat, a week ago. He has established a new record of serving as Chief Minister for longest period. Modi said that Muslims have accepted BJP by heart.

Unfortunately, all the eleven Muslim contenders fielded by BJP in these elections have lost. This is totally in contradiction to what Modi was trying to claim for. May be right candidates were not fielded at right place.

Modi has promised to work for a complete tenure of five years for the progress all the people of Gujarat without bothering to differentiate between the places where they were not supported well.

Just about a couple of weeks back BJP has won two Congress stronghold assembly constituencies in by-election polls where BJP has been empowered by people for the first time in the history of Gujarat.

For the first time in these civic polls, online polling was performed. In last elections also held in 2005, BJP had won all the six municipal polls.

Pirates abandoned Japanese ship near Kenya

It was reported by the Japanese transport ministry that a Japanese ship owned by NYK-Hinode Line Ltd. was abandoned by pirates in the seas off the Kenyan coast on Monday. The vessel which is a multi-purpose ship and very advanced technologically might have been captured by these sea robbers and then was surrendered by them.

The company that has been operating the ship is in no way having any knowledge of the vessel being captured by pirates in sea waters but the transport ministry of Japan informed that at around 05:00 pm (0800 GMT) this ship which was carrying the logo of a Japanese company and its flag was abandoned.

The pirates might have been successful in overpowering the ship when in deep sea waters and then when they no longer needed it, the ship was surrendered. The abandoned ship was spotted by a foreign ship and it also provided the information that pirates has overpowered it.

The reports from Japanese transport ministry said that the ship which is 14,162 tonne in capacity is named Izumi and that it was found languishing in sea waters near the coastal city of Mombasa, Kenya.

Then it sent out an urgent call for help at 0550 on Sunday but later lost contact and was nowhere to be seen. The ship is registered in Panama though its actually a property of NYK-Hinode Line Ltd. which is a Japanese based shipping company.

As of now the Japanese ship Izumi is said to be in Kenya near its coast in Mombasa and is waiting for help so that it can further cover its journey. It has become a regular problem near the African waters where the pirates have been active for a long time and plaguing all the ships crossing the continent.

Only recently an Indian ship was kept in capture by these pirates, this time it was a Japanese vessel which has now been looted and then abandoned near Kenya waters to fend for itself.

Bigg Boss 4 assigned a spiritual task to the contestants this week by asking them to done up in white gowns with borders of gold with cane hats and beige footwear chanting out loud the prayer Shakti de, Bhakti de, Mukti de with their feet adjacent to one another and foreheads joined.

But what follows next as a part of this task involves controversy generation as each contestant has to confess the bad and good qualities of the housemate who is standing next to them.

Now even though this task was aimed at spiritual insight and harmony but the scenario turned upside down as Veena comes ahead with a negative quality of Sakshi that Sakshi takes to her heart and therefore a fuss occurs. The Shiv Sena members on the 11th of October observed a strike across the Hill station area of Lonavala for showcasing their protest against the presence of Pakistani artistes at the colors reality show Bigg Boss 4 hosted by Salman Khan.

The Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackrey had from the very beginning of the show expressed his agitation against the presence of Veena Malick, Begum Nawazish Ali and Abbas Kazmi who hail from Pakistan.

The leader mentioned to the idea that Pakistan never involves an Indian into any of their activities then why should an Indian reality show do something like that. He also gave out threats related to this that the running of the show will be blocked until immediate action is not taken in this regard. With this intention the Shiv Sena members declared a bandh at Lonavala.

This place is the main location for the sets of the reality show Big Boss4. During the protest Shiv Sena activists also brutally beat up three people who form a part of the Big Boss sets.

The government sources revealed that a complaint notice has been sent out to the Colors channel from the district collector of Pune about the reasons as to why the shooting of the show should not be barred since it is making a political mess all across.

But in response to this RR Patil the state Home Minister declared that the channel should continue the way it is since neither the show and nor the participants from Pakistan have done anything to break the law. [Bigg Boss Video]

Delhi Metro Expansion Plan Approved by Capital State Cabinet for Phase III

Delhi's pride, that is the Metro, is expanding further. After the completion of its two phases, the approval of third phase has come today from Delhi government's cabinet meeting held in the morning.

Delhi Metro under the banner of DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) has changed the face of the capital city of India tremendously and has brought Delhi at any international standard developed city's level.

The budget for the third phase of Metro is Rs. 21,468 crore which has been sanctioned and approved by the Delhi State government cabinet with a condition that the transport department of Delhi related to Metro Project has to develop an extensive project report (PR) for the new corridors.

The layout and design of these new corridors has been recommended to DMRC by the government participated agencies RITES and DIMTS for this phase.

Delhi government chief minister Mrs. Sheila Dixit has personally looked into the proposal submitted by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for its Phase III expansion plan. A committee chaired by Mrs. Sheila Dixit attended the presentation made by DMRC for six corridors.

The proposal cum presentation given by DMRC to this committee also showed the changes, suggestions and observations given by RITES. All relevant reports were studied and discussed by this committee in detail before the approval took place.

These six corridors proposed for Phase III are supposed to cover an area of around 70 kilometres out of which around 31 kilometres will be the elevations and around 39 kilometres will be underground.

The areas covered in this Phase III are Malviya Nagar to Kalindi Kunj corridor had to face a rejection from RITES for the reason that this corridor covers the areas having low ridership being an isolated corridor with least chances of integration to other corridors.

Another corridor stretching from Ashoka Park to Delhi Gate was also rejected by Rites with the reason that this stretch can not have parallel Metro lines. So this corridor's development is suggested to be covered in Phase IV of the project once Phase III is over.

New corridors proposed also include one from Rajouri Garden to Dhaula Kuan, another called as Outer Ring Road corridor covering Noida Sector 18 to Janak Puri to Transport Nagar. The third corridor sanctioned is Shastri Park to Yamuna Bank. The detailed project report to be submitted by the department is in progress.

Salman Khan Fails To Keep Commitments Towards Bigg Boss 4

A special shoot was organized for recording scheduled on Sunday, October 10, which was to be aired on October 11, Monday for the purpose of drawing higher amount of viewers. Bigg Boss 4 team was arranging for something special to be aired on October 11 at the same time when KBC IV was to be aired on another channel.

They knew that none other than Salman Khan would be able to do that to attract people to keep them away from the great Amitabh Bachchan hosted program KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) season 4 inaugural episode.

It turned into a big flop for them when Salman Khan after the shooting of his own NGO  program 'Being Human' with his lot of Bollywood actresses, did not turn up for this shooting of a special program featuring him exclusively. Salman Khan usually appears only on Saturdays and Sundays in the program.

This shoot was to arrange him to appear in a special episode of Bigg Boss 4 where he had to enter the Bigg Boss house comprising of the housemates and meet them in person one by one. The whole episode would have been a big hit for Bigg Boss team had Salman Khan appeared for that shoot.

At the last moment when the whole set and crew were ready to shoot got a message that Salman Khan will not be coming for the shoot on personal grounds. Some sources said that Salman sent a message to the ready to shoot team about his health issues due to which he will not be able to come for the shooting.

Others say that he was far away from the shooting sets of Bigg Boss 4 and thus sent this message as an excuse for not attending the shoot.

Nobody knows the real facts except Salman Khan who has been a serious let down for Bigg Boss 4 plans for the Monday episode.

Out of all the participants in the currently running reality show Bigg Boss 4 on colors channel, Sakshi Pradhan is the youngest of them all. The program has completed one week last Sunday successfully.

The season four of this famous show where all participants are supposed to live together in the Bigg Boss' house is being anchored by naughty and witty actor of Bollywood Salman Khan.

Sakshi Pradhan was known to nobody until she acquired the fame from MTV channel's popular program Splitsvilla season 2. The program on V channel is quite popular among younger generation of the country. Bigg Boss is the Indian version of international US program Big Brother.

After spending one week on Bigg Boss 4 house with other housemates, Sakshi has caught up with a controversy making spicy gossip material at most of the news channels and other media sources.

Sakshi is a young, glamorous girl famous for her free lifestyle. The rumours are about her pregnancy. She is carrying a baby or not is the point of debate these days all around.

It could be TRP related material or might be a truth is yet to be established. Sakshi Pradhan is reported to be in tension in Bigg Boss house. It is also reported that recently she discussed her anxiety with another young girl in the house, Sara Khan.

Sakshi also shared her concern with the senior lady in the house, Shweta Tiwari, and asked her about the measures to be taken. She consulted Shweta Tiwari about the abortion process and the risks involved in that.

Shweta Tiwari, reportedly, has told Sakshi not to worry about it. Probably the pregnancy test has been conducted and has been reported to be negative. That has relieved Sakshi of her tensions and has got her back to her jolly mood.

Sakshi was recently caught in another scandal related to a MMS covered in a 14 seconds movie showing her flirting and kissing freely.

At least she seems to be out of her tension related to pregnancy and would have a good time there in Bigg Boss house as long as she is there.
