Amelia Erhart on Nikumaroro Island Posted: 18 Dec 2010 09:01 PM PST New discoveries on Nikumaroro Island in the southwest Pacific Ocean has researchers believing that Amelia Erhart and navigator, Fred Noonan, lived on the island after their last radio contacts. They disappeared during a 1937 attempt to make a round-the-world flight and were last heard from over the Pacific.

It is done by pumping liquids down a well into subsurface rock units under pressures that are high enough to fracture the rock. The goal is to create a network of interconnected fractures that will serve as pore spaces for the movement of oil and natural gas to the well bore. |
