The alluring nature of the movie Letters to Juliet along with naturally enchanting Tuscan landscapes make you believe in the eternal love story of the doomed lovers Romeo and Juliet. The story starts with Sophie played by Amanda Seyfried on a pre-honeymoon trip to Verona with quite an unromantic fiancé Victor (Gael Garcia Bernal) who is more into researching for his new restaurant and is not as starry-eyed as her to waste time on romance. Sophie starts realizing that her lover isn't up for any fairy tale stuff and starts getting bored. She happens to join a group of letter readers who claim themselves to be the love advisers to hundreds of people who write to Juliet about their love lives and the problems related to it and tuck them under the very famous balcony where Juliet used to meet Romeo. The charming and very livewire performance by Amanda takes your heart away and the way she interacts with Bernal is worth a smile or two. The story is very predictable when u see that the young girl with fantasy in her thoughts is falling out of love with her current beau whose attention span towards her is getting lesser by day. The character undergoes a complete change of situation when she answers a 50 year-old letter written by a woman (Vanessa Redgrave) hopelessly in love with an Italian man (Franco Nero) to go ahead and marry an Englishman and leave him, only in the hope that she will find him someday. The letter brings this woman in answer along with a very haughty but equally hunky grandson Charles (Christopher Egan). The very senior actress Vanessa Redgrave paired with her real life love Franco Nero makes u believe in the concept of soul mates and enchants with a warm togetherness she portrays for us onscreen. The camaraderie and warmth that oozes from the relationship Sophie happens to share with the very calm and patient Redgrave's character takes the movie to another level of high spirited acting and terrific performances. The young lovers take much delight in coining new phrases and Sophie even juxtaposing 'Awesome' and 'Oh my God' together brings out the vivacity of the performance. Charles is quit arrogant but manages to charm Sophie very predictably yet the viewer seems to be very much interested in the story. So all in all the very banally developing storyline still enthralls with the serene and lively characterization chosen here and the legend of the doomed lovers Romeo and Juliet when referred to weaves its magic again in the film Letters to Juliet. |

 Jhootha Hi Sahi Movie Review Jhootha Hi Sahi: Abbas Tyrewala and Pakhi (real life couple) have written a superb story for the movie Jhootha Hi Sahi. This love story has been scripted differently. It is a romance cum friendship relationship between anguished Mishka (Pakhi) and boring Siddharth (John Abraham) who works in a book store. But he also acts as an unknown and sensible counselor not known to anyone. The movie has been filmed in London. The two of them had many silly and stupid encounters at various places. Abbas Tyrewala has a good movie to his credit earlier – 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' which has been added by another good movie. John Abraham has justified his role in the movie by doing some excellent scenes. He has actually displayed that besides modeling and body building, he can be a good actor too. The movie has lot of light moments presented well by the duo that will entertain the viewers for sure. The appearance of John Abraham is a total changeover and remarkable. Siddharth working as a assistant in a bookstore during the day time, works as a counselor at a suicide helpline during the night. One day he gets a call from Mishka during the night who threatens him that she is going to kill herself. Siddharth tries to keep her engaged for whole night to get her out of this urge of her. But he himself gets hooked on to meet her in real life. Soon they become friends and lovers. For a long time Mishka doesn't come to know that the boring bookstore boy who is her boyfriend is the same smart guy during the night on helpline. Rating: 3/5 |

After she said 'yes' to Russell Brand in December last year at the most romantic place in the world-the Taj Mahal, the couple has now gone for the whole Indian theme for their wedding on Saturday. The singer arrived on Wednesday at the Mumbai airport accompanied by her soon-to-be hubby British actor-comedian Russell Brand. Inspite of the cover of a coat the paparazzi clicked away and the pictures revealed that she had donned on a nose ring- a truly traditional Indian ‘nath’. There was also this gold chain going upto her right ear linking with the nose ring. The wedding of Katy Perry and Russell Brand is going to be celebrated in Jaipur at the Aman-i-Khas resort near the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary. The wedding will be a massive Indian style affair with celebrations and activities ranging for over a week. The guest list has about 80 names on it and the couple has planned to take them on a tour of the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary. They have already hired about 13 vehicles for the purpose. Rajasthan Tours manager Mohan Singh disclosed that guests will be accommodated at the Vanyavilas and Sher Bagh resorts. His company is one of the several that has been assigned to handle this gala wedding to be held on Saturday. As expected security is tight around the area. “This would be a colourful Rajasthan wedding, and both Brand and Perry would be attired in Indian wedding attires,” Mr Singh said. But the local authorities are clueless about the affair. The couple it seems hasn't informed them yet about the wedding taking place so close to the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary. “We have no clue about the celebrations. But we would not allow playing of musical instruments and blaring loudspeakers after 10 in the night,” Sawaimadhopur district police chief Vishnu Kant said. Khali was a wild card entry after the 3rd week of Bigg Boss and was a big surprise for all housemates. Salman has decided to gift his personal gym equipments lying at his Panvel farmhouse to Bigg Boss house for Khali. Salman said he understands how important it is for Khali to maintain his body. Khali may have a big surprise by this gesture of Salman Khan. Rahul Bhatt is also supposed to be eager to use the body building equipments once they get inside the house, after dispatched by Salman from his farmhouse in Panvel. It may happen that some of the equipments out of all sent by Salman Khan may be required to send back to his farmhouse due to space constraint in the Bigg Boss House. As per initial reports Shiv Sena was all guns against the reality show Big Boss 4 hosted by Salman Khan for having contestants from Pakistan including Veena Malik and Ali Saleem and now they propose that their revolt has given a leverage to KBC4 with increased television audience measurement ratings (TRM) that are higher than Big Boss4 pointing to the fact that the Sena won over their battle with the show as the people of India have given an upper hand to KBC rather than Big Boss. Bharat Kumar Raut, the Sena spokesperson informed media that this increasing TRM is a sign that the Sena triumphed over the channel and also to the fact that this is a victory of patriotism. Emraan Hashmi, mukesh bhatt and Kunal deshmukh have all worked together earlier on two hit films namely Tum Mile and Jannat and therefore now the trio is trying to re spill the magic on the silver screen for the third time with their upcoming movie which has been tentatively entitled XXX. But it seems there is some very big confusion in the communication between the three. According to the buzz this upcoming movie deals with the Indian porn industry and is predicted to be two or three steps ahead of the famous kalyug which was based on the same topic. Emraan Hashmi is not doing this upcoming bhatt venture in the same manner in which he denied kalyug initially. | Bihar Assembly Elections Phase I Start Under Indian Air Force Choppers Posted: 21 Oct 2010 12:33 AM PDT 
Almost all major parties are focussing deeply on the Bihar Assembly Elections started with Phase I today, Thursday 21st October. Forty seven constituencies are being covered during the Phase I. Election Commission has advised to use Indian Air Force choppers for air surveillance purposes during the first phase. This is happening for the first time in the history of India. An aerial survey by choppers regularly and periodically of all the election centres will definitely give a better control over the situation. An instant action will be possible on any alerting situation. Bihar state Director General of Police Mr. Neelmani reportedly confirmed that 85% of around 11,000 election booths will be under surveillance. Polling has started at 7AM and will last till 3PM. Out of total 631 candidates contesting in these elections from different parties and independently, 52 are females. Kadwa, constituency number 63 is having the largest number of candidates (22). Singheshwar, constituency number 72 is having the smallest number of candidates that is 7. There are 13 constituencies from where more than one woman candidate are contesting. More than 1 crore people are eligible to vote in the first phase. More than 25,000 electronic voting machines are being used in the first phase. Largest constituency area wise and electorate wise is Saharsa (Assembly constituency number 75. Smallest constituency in terms of least number of electorates is Kochadhaman (Assembly Constituency no. 55). Party wise list of candidates is – BSP 45, BJD 21, CPI 11, CPI (M) 7, INC 47, NCP 33, JD (U) 26, LJP 16, RJD 31, Other parties 156 and Independent candidates 238. |

The movie has a star cast of Vivek Oberoi, Subrata Dutta, Suriya and Shatrughan Sinha and will hit screens on the 22nd of October being slated as one of the biggest releases of this year. The release will be in a multilingual manner as the movie is presented in three languages namely Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Based on the issue of bloody politics and the rivalry factor which takes a violent form, the director has taken the substance of the movie after being inspired by a real life incident that took to the front pages of the news paper. In 2005 beginning Paritala Ravindra was murdered on the basis of political differences and hence Rakta Charitra revolves around two political figures of Andhra Pradesh and the contention between the two. Vivek Oberoi is playing the lead character of the film named Parithala Ravi while the other lead character Suriya is essaying the part of Maddelacheruvu Suri the contender. Another primary feature of this film is the come back of Shatrughan Sinha who is essaying the part of NTR, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister. According to reports the movie will hit big screen in two separate sequels with part 1 and part 2. Rakta Charitra is being considered as the most violent flick in the Indian cinema history and according to Ram Gopal Verma it is completely up to the audience to decide as to who the good guy is and who the bad guy in the flick is since blood shed and violence are equally substantial on both sides. |

 Discovery Channel Discovery Channel which is the countries premium nonfiction channel that features shows on various topics like science, nature, space, adventure, technology and many more has recently come up with its Telugu feeds marking the 15th year in India. The cable TV and American satellite channel was established by John Hendricks. The channel is featured across 170 nations and reaches approximately 431 million homes. It has multiple language tracks and is also a part of Indian television from the South East Asian section. The recent language feed in Telugu has been launched for viewers in Andhra Pradesh dated on October, 1st. The Telugu language feeds will be run on the channel between six PM in the evening till the midnight hours. Shortly the feeds will be run parallel on a 24 hour basis.
