If you have issues with getting your kids to eat fruits and veggies, or if you just want to add some new creative foods to their diet, you will love this cookbook. I actually bought it when it first came out (after seeing her on Oprah) and gave $17 for it! It was money well spent though. The cookbook is really nice, easy to navigate and has a lot of pictures. It is okay to complain…. Posted: 14 Jan 2011 11:55 AM PST A few months ago I met my husband for lunch. We went to a national steakhouse restaurant at 2 pm since we liked their food, they have great prices and we knew we could get it and out quickly since it was after the lunch rush. However, we got a waitress who just wasn’t on her game that day (she only had 3 tables). She was very slow (the food was fast!) and I even had to track her down to pay for our meal. My husband ended up being 5 minutes late to work (which he is a very punctual man and he was very irritated). After we left the restaurant, I called to speak with a manager. I was very polite (I find it is best to be nice to people, plus I really don’t have it in me to be mean) and I explained to him what had happened. He was extremely apologetic and even offered to comp our meal on our next visit (what a nice surprise). So today we returned to the restaurant and had a wonderful visit. Everyone was incredibly nice and the food was delicious and prompt. And just as promised, he comped our meal. We only paid the tip. My point is that it is okay to complain when necessary. If you aren’t happy with the service you receive ANYWHERE and you are contemplating never returning to the establishment again, give the manager a call and let him know. I felt awful that I had to call and complain about the waitress, but we were so upset that we were not going to return there again. When you feel that way, it is okay to let them know how you feel.

Day 14 of No Dining Out January Posted: 14 Jan 2011 05:28 AM PST Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do! At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend however they choose! How can this help you “Coupon to Disney?” Take a look at your current dining out budget. How much did you spend last month going out to eat? That is money that could of gone into your fund instead! Try cutting your out to eat costs this month and adding the difference to your fund. Set a weekly dining out budget, if you resist going out to eat, add that amount to your fund instead. If you were seriously about to go out to eat (like had your coat on and was going out the door or pulled into the drive thru and then pulled back out), add the amount you would of spent to your fund. Going out to eat and using a coupon or paying with a gift card? You could add that amount to your fund too. For example… if you had a $25 gift card to Cracker Barrel and you used it, you could take $25 cash out of your budget and add it to the fund. Or if you used a $10 coupon, you could take $10 cash out of the budget and add it to the fund. Be sure to read my Couponing to Disney training series. The rules: You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
