Day 24 of No Dining Out December

Posted: 24 Dec 2010 05:59 AM PST

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend however they choose!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

I met a friend for breakfast at Chickfila. It was good! I spent about $10 because I forgot the coupons at home.

How are you doing?

The Cheesecake Factory eGift Cards make great last minute gifts!

Posted: 23 Dec 2010 01:10 PM PST

With Christmas right around the corner, The Cheesecake Factory knows that everyone has a few hard-to-buy-for people left on their lists. Cheesecake Factory eGift Cards are the perfect choice for:

  • The last minute gift giver – a neighbor, co-worker or second cousin twice removed gives you a gift, and you forgot to shop for them. The perfect solution? An eGift Card from The Cheesecake Factory, which can be ordered and emailed to your recipient in just 2-4 hours.
  • The "I don't need anything" family member – this family member is always the last person you check off your list. No matter how last minute you are, an eGift Card from The Cheesecake Factory gets there quick and gives them the chance to order whatever they want – if they can make up their minds!
  • The office Secret Santa – you've walked past his cubicle once or twice, but aren't even sure of his last name, much less his Christmas list. Luckily, the menu at The Cheesecake Factory has something for everyone, and eGift Cards mean you don't even have to leave your desk to go shopping!
  • Yourself! – Shhh, we won't tell! You deserve it!

eGift Cards can be sent to any email address, and even include a custom design or photo upload and personalized greeting. eGift Cards can be purchased online in any amount between $10 and $500, and may be used at any of The Cheesecake Factory's locations or online.

To make this deal even sweeter, The Cheesecake Factory is giving  you a Slice of Joy card with every $25 Gift Card purchased by Christmas. Whether you keep it for yourself or give it as gift, it's good for one complimentary slice of cheesecake at any Cheesecake Factory between December 26th and March 29th.
