Deadly Volcanoes in Papua New Guinea Need Monitoring Posted: 20 Dec 2010 09:35 PM PST Papua New Guinea has about six million residents and sixteen very active volcanoes. These volcanoes are capable of erupting with very little warning and have repeatedly killed thousands of people. Rabi Narayan Gaudo, a United Nations Development Programme project manager, believes that the government needs to step up with the resources needed to monitor them properly. |
