Posted: 18 Jan 2011 11:46 AM PST

I have a feature on the blog that I refer to as 5 A Day. My goal is to post 5 different companies for you to email each day (I have been slacking lately but I hope to get better). When you email them, you give them your honest opinions on their products and sometimes they send you coupons in return.

Here are the coupons I have received in the past month:

1. Wolfgang Puck Soups- $1/1 soup, stock or broth

2. Mama Marys – 2 55c/1 and 2 75c/1

4. A.C. LaRocco – (6) 50c/1 product

6. Dole (6) 35c/1

7. Malt O Meal – Free package of cereal and (2) 75c/1

12. Smart Ones (3) 75c/1 product

13. Wish Bone – Free bottle of Dressing plus a sheet of Unilever coupons

15. Splenda – $3/1 package plus a cute spoon

*All of these coupons were for complimenting the product.

You might not receive the same coupons that I do. I urge you to be honest and personal with the company. You can get more tips on how to word your emails here.

Remember you can catch up on all the previous 5 A Day’s here!

*HOT NEWS* from Disney – Goodbye Snow White Scary Adventures

Posted: 18 Jan 2011 10:59 AM PST

The Magic Kingdom is closing at 6 pm tonight for a major news conference regarding Fantasyland Expansion Changes. (I will report on everything they announce.)

Snow White’s Scary Adventures will be closing for good. In it’s place, Disney will build a Princess Meet and Greet. If you remember back to when they announced the Fantasyland Expansion, they had originally planned to have interactive meet and greets. That has been scrapped, and we will see traditional meet and greets instead.

Snow White will have her own new roller coaster called The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

I for one am not upset to see the ride go. Emily will ride it but she will only look at the first scene and the last.

What are your thoughts?

(Thanks Chip and Co for the heads up!)

Regular retail $9.99 a piece! If any of your readers have pets they should head over to PetSmart to scoop up all the great deals. They also had a pretty good selection of toys and sweaters on clearance for 75% off.

If you have found a great deal, please let me know!

Day 18 of No Dining Out January

Posted: 18 Jan 2011 05:06 AM PST

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend however they choose!

How can this help you “Coupon to Disney?”

  • Take a look at your current dining out budget. How much did you spend last month going out to eat? That is money that could of gone into your fund instead! Try cutting your out to eat costs this month and adding the difference to your fund.
  • Set a weekly dining out budget, if you resist going out to eat, add that amount to your fund instead.
  • If you were seriously about to go out to eat (like had your coat on and was going out the door or pulled into the drive thru and then pulled back out), add the amount you would of spent to your fund.
  • Going out to eat and using a coupon or paying with a gift card? You could add that amount to your fund too. For example… if you had a $25 gift card to Cracker Barrel and you used it, you could take $25 cash out of your budget and add it to the fund. Or if you used a $10 coupon, you could take $10 cash out of the budget and add it to the fund.
  • Be sure to read my Couponing to Disney training series.

The rules:

  • You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
  • You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the cash.
  • The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
  • You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
  • Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
  • Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My update

I didn’t go out to eat, but hubby did. He got a bunch of gift cards for Christmas from his coworkers and he has been using them to pay for his meals.

How are you doing?
