API to Launch Ad Campaign to Support Canadian Oil Sands Posted: 12 Dec 2010 09:46 PM PST The American Petroleum Institute has an article on their EnergyTomorrow.org website that supports the development of Canadian oil sands. API plans to launch an advertising campaign in January with to communicate the value of oil sands to job creation, the economy and energy security. Related: |

Lidar Image of Mount St. Helens – print a poster Posted: 12 Dec 2010 09:38 PM PST USGS has released high resolution lidar images for the Mount St Helens cone area. You can get a 17×22 inch pdf that can be printed as a study sheet or a 32×42 inch pdf that can be plotted for use as a poster. If you don’t need a paper copy you can open the pdf on your computer and check it out. |
Groundwater in the Atlantic Coastal Plain Posted: 12 Dec 2010 09:20 PM PST USGS has published: “Groundwater Availability in the Atlantic Coastal Plain of North and South Carolina“. “This assessment includes: (1) a determination of the present status of the Atlantic Coastal Plain groundwater resources; (2) an explanation for how these resources have changed over time; and (3) development of tools to assess the system's response to stresses from potential future climate variability.” Quoted from the USGS executive summary. |
