SnowCon: Online Brainstorm

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 02:19 PM PST

Tonight, from 6 to 7 pm MT, I'm hosting an online planning meeting for Front Range Objectivism's March SnowCon. (I'll webcast, with everyone else in the text chat.) I'll sketch my plans for the conference, but mostly we'll brainstorm about ways to make the long weekend as fabulously value-dense as possible.

If you might attend SnowCon and you'd like to make this mini-conference as fulfilling and memorable for yourself as possible, please join us! If you fill out the interest form by about 5 pm MT or so, I'll send you the instructions for joining the webcast and chat for the planning meeting.

Even if you can't attend the planning meeting tonight, you'll be informed of our plans and able to offer us feedback ... but only if you submit that interest form.

2010 Front Range Objectivism Media Output

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 07:00 AM PST

For calendar year 2010, Front Range Objectivism (FRO) members continued their activism and publishing.

In particular, FRO members published the following at the regional and national level:
Articles: 5
OpEds: 68
LTEs: 27
Some of the topics covered include the Tea Party movement, gun rights, environmentalism, health care, abortion and "personhood", Islam, Social Security, education, voting systems, and Colorado politics.

For comparison, our total 2009 output was 3 articles, 57 OpEds, and 48 LTEs. (Basically, we ramped up our output of articles and OpEds, but didn't write quite as many LTEs.)

The majority of this writing was done by people working in their spare time, in addition to their day jobs.

This list does not include citations and interviews in local and national media, participation in Tea Party events, letters to elected officials, postings to Facebook and Twitter, and blogging.

I'd like to thank my fellow FRO activists for their hard work during 2010. If I have inadvertently omitted someone's piece, please let me know so I can update this tally.

The detailed list of our 2010 published output includes the following:
